Light Bars for Police Cars

In 2011 the City of Sandusky lost police officer Andrew Dunn in the line of duty. The tragedy prompted community-wide support for the police department and for the Dunn Family. Five local Foundations came together to honor the memory of Officer Andrew Dunn by making our police officers safer. New light bars for the city’s patrol cars were purchased with grant monies. The light bars on 8 of the 15 cars were 15 years old and were not easily visible. The new light bars allow the officers to be more easily seen when the lights are in operation.

The Frost-Parker Foundation, The Randolph J. and Estelle M. Dorn Foundation, The Erie County Community Foundation, The Zion Lutheran Church Foundation, and The Wightman-Wieber Foundation all contributed to the purchase of the new light bars
