Mollie Schaefer

Mollie Schaefer joined Erie County Community Foundation’s team in 2024 serving as their Program Officer. Before joining the Community Foundation, Mollie served as a Naturalist and Event Coordinator with Erie MetroParks, where she focused on education, building new programs, and developing community partnerships. In 2023, Mollie's department received the OPRA Excellence Award: 1st Place in Environmental & Interpretive Programs & Events, for the creation of the Erie MetroParks Nature on Wheels unit. 

Mollie earned her BS in Environmental Science from Heidelberg University in Tiffin, Ohio. During her time at Heidelberg, she also studied business and communications, held leadership roles on the university’s event council, completed the honors program, and studied abroad in Costa Rica. After college, Mollie taught English language in Tianjin, China, and served as an AmeriCorps member in West Virginia. 

In her free time, Mollie delights in reading, traveling, spending time in nature, and yoga. She and her husband, Nathan, enjoy their home in Huron with their adventurous cat.
