Downtown Beautification

Six local foundations donated a total of $15,000 to the 2012 Downtown Beautification project, which was modeled after a similar project at Westlake's Crocker Park. Donors included Sidney Frohman Foundation, Mylander Foundation, Frost-Parker Foundation, Wightman-Wieber Foundation, Erie County Community Foundation and the Dorn Foundation. Sandusky Main Street worked with the City of Sandusky and Barnes Nursery to make the project a reality. Through their efforts, and the Foundations’ funding, the initial 74 large planters were installed early summer 2012.

The project was so successful, additional planters were purchased to expand the project in coming years.
