YMCA Capital Improvements

The Sandusky YMCA serves thousands of Erie County residents every year. In 2011, the YMCA found they needed to make immediate capital improvements. The emergency and exit lighting the building did not meet the recommendations of the Fire Inspector and needed to be replaced. The YMCA also discovered the current lighting in the building would soon be obsolete due to a government mandate.

The Erie County Community Foundation, The Frost-Parker Foundation, The Randolph J. and Estelle M. Dorn Foundation, and The Zion Lutheran Foundation pooled their resources and provided funding to make the necessary improvements. The Sandusky YMCA replaced the emergency and exit lighting and met all recommendations by the Fire Inspector. The building’s entire lighting system was also upgraded, allowing for better lighting, easier maintenance, and a more efficient system.
