Abbey Bemis

Abbey Bemis is Chief Operating Officer for Payne, Nickles & Company, a full-service accounting and business advisory firm in Sandusky and Norwalk, Ohio. Bemis works with the Payne, Nickles management team and partners to implement the firm’s vision for growth, efficiency and expanding the firm’s reach.

Bemis is also an Adjunct Professor at BGSU Firelands Campus.

Prior to her work at Payne, Nickles & Company, Bemis served as Executive Director of the Erie County Economic Development Corporation, a private not-for-profit economic development organization, supporting business retention and expansion and workforce development. 

Bemis earned her BA in Economics and International Studies from Denison University, and her MBA from Duke University’s Fuqua School of Business. Bemis has family roots in north central Ohio and has been a resident of downtown Sandusky for over 10 years now with her husband and one-year old triplets.
