Lee Alexakos

Lee Alexakos currently serves as Immediate Past Chair of the Board of Erie County Community Foundation. She has been with the foundation since 2016 and previously chaired the Grants Committee.

Alexakos is a lifelong resident of Sandusky, OH. She is semi-retired vice president community relations for Cedar Fair Entertainment Company. Her career with Cedar Fair spans over 40 years, including planning, marketing strategy, advertising, pricing, sales, digital marketing, public relations and promotions.

Active in her community, Alexakos currently serves on the boards of Firelands Health, Lake Erie Foundation, Greater Sandusky Partnership and the Erie County Visitors and Convention Bureau. She is a member of the BGSU Firelands Leadership Council. Alexakos is also Past Chairwoman of the Board of Directors for the Erie County Chamber of Commerce.

Alexakos has served with distinction on countless nonprofit boards, including Sandusky Central Catholic Schools, Sandusky Central Catholic Foundation, Teen Leadership Corps, Firelands Symphony Orchestra, Maritime Museum of Sandusky, Sandusky Area YMCA, Sandusky Bicentennial Commission, Lake Erie Shores and Islands CVB, and Erie County Chamber of Commerce.

Alexakos has been recognized for excellence throughout her career and nonprofit service, including receiving the Chamber Chairman’s Award as Past Chairwoman of the Board of Directors for the Erie County Chamber of Commerce; Leadership Council for Cleveland Clinic Children’s hospital; appointed to the 2016 TourismOhio Advisory Board by Governor John Kasich; recognized as a Greater Cleveland Woman of Professional Excellence; Leadership Erie County graduate; 2011 Woman of Excellence for Erie County, OH; received the 2014 BGSU College Alumni Award; 2015 - Top 50 honoree for the 50th Anniversary of BGSU Firelands College.

Alexakos graduated from Sandusky St. Mary’s and earned her BS in Business Administration from Bowling Green State University. She was named a Woman of Excellence for Erie County in 2011. In 2014, she received the BGSU College Alumni Award, and in 2015 was a Top 50 honoree for the 50th Anniversary of BGSU Firelands College. She was inducted into the Erie County Chamber of Commerce Gallery of Achievers in 2016.

She and her husband have two adult children.
